In 2026 we were awarded an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant to examine the history, archaeology and heritage of Norfolk Island's First Settlement (1789-1814). As well as the usual archival and secondary source-based research, we will also be spending a lot of time on-island undertaking fieldwork. The first lot of fieldwork kicks off in November 2026.
